How to Prepare for the FAFSA

Picture

Finding the FAFSA Online

Look for the Official Website of the United States Government Label
  • Ensure you are on the official site: studentaid.gov or fafsa.gov
Beware of Scams
  • Check for the ".gov" domain - it should never say ".com" or anything else.
  • Never pay for the FAFSA - if you are being asked for payment information, it is a scam.

Creating a FSA ID

What is an FSA ID?
  • A username and password that gives you access to the Federal Student Aid's online system
