Coming Soon: Reading Resource Hub Connects Families to Literacy Opportunities

Families play a critical role in helping children become strong readers, but finding high-quality literacy resources can often be a challenge. To make it easier, Building Our Future's Early Grade Reading Work Team is launching a new Reading Resource Hub this August.

Developed through collaboration with partners including Kenosha Unified School District, Kenosha Public Library, Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha, Carthage College, Snap-on, and others, the hub will provide families, educators, and community organizations with a centralized place to discover free and low-cost reading programs, book access opportunities, literacy events, and other resources available throughout Kenosha County.

Why it matters: Strong reading skills are foundational to long-term academic success. By improving access to literacy resources and strengthening connections between families and community partners, the Reading Resource Hub supports our shared goal of helping more children read proficiently by the end of third grade.

What's next: The Reading Resource Hub officially launches in August 2026. We look forward to sharing this new community resource and encourage partners to help spread the word so more families can take advantage of the opportunities available across Kenosha County.
