At the end of September, the Building Our Future team traveled to Salt Lake City to attend StriveTogether’s annual Cradle-to-Career network convening. We were honored to have our own Lawrence Kirby and Kevin Meagher co-present on the history and evolution of our Continuous Improvement cohorts in Kenosha. Over the past four years, these cohorts have empowered local organizations to leverage their data to uncover insights, identify root causes, and develop equitable strategies for those they serve.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share our work with peers and learn alongside them during this three-day event in Utah. We look forward to bringing these valuable insights back to Kenosha to enhance the impact of our Continuous Improvement offerings in the coming years. We are excited to announce that recruitment is underway for the 2024-25 Youth Voice Project cohort! This program empowers high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to build leadership skills and take an active role in shaping our community, including organizing the annual Youth-Led Town Hall Board Candidate Forum on March 13, 2025. We’re also pleased to welcome Destiny Garcia, a freshman at Carthage College, as our intern and co-facilitator for the project.
